The capital of Peru, Lima was included in the annual list 52 places to go in 2020, prepared by the prestigious American newspaper The New York Times, reported the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PROMPERÚ).
“Lima today is possibly the culinary center of South America, a city full of famous chefs and extravagant dishes of extraordinary food” highlights the medium, adding that the Peruvian metropolis is “a rich historical and cultural capital full of perfect images like the Plaza Major, museums full of ancient treasures such as the Larco Museum and artisan mansions such as Dédalo ”.
The New York Times, one of the world’s most widely read newspapers, publishes this list annually, highlighting places to inspire, delight and motivate its readers to explore the world.
“Keeping our destinations in the sights of the world’s tourists is a work that we carry out from the MINCETUR and PROMPERÚ, with intense international promotion campaigns. Tourism is one of the main economic activities of our country, and benefits a wide production chain. Therefore, this recognition of The New York Times should fill all Peruvians with pride, ”said PROMPERÚ executive president Luis Torres.
