The Inti Raymi, which translated from Quechua means “FIESTA DEL SOL” is one of the most important festivities of the imperial city of Cusco. This wonderful show performed in the esplanade of Sacsayhuaman is held every June 24 and aims to pay homage to the Sun God, the supreme symbol of worship in the Inca culture.
The Inti Raymi is a festival celebrated since the time of the Incas during the winter solstice to worship the sun god, it involves colorful costumes, luxury banquets, festive music, and historical re-enactments.
